Well today is going to be a boring topic. It's all about SEWING. I bought a sewing machine before my term tests. I never open the box at all till last week. Haha. The thought of using it makes me zzzzzz. But I started to sew cushion cover today! I'm already 3/4 done! Well I'm just testing it out, just to make sure that the one I'm going to hand in will look superb. So this is just a form of practising. Practice makes perfect :)
Oh ya and another thing I want to bring up is about buying a sewing machine. This machine is not cheap. I bought mine for $299. I could actually save up that money or shop for other things. But come to think of it, buying one is like an investment. I can use it anytime I want to. This would save the trouble of me going back to school just to sew one damn cushion cover. Worse still, assignment 2 is next and I have to sew 3 items. Who can afford the time to do all that in school? I just don't like to sew in school. Just makes me so sleepy and lazy. I don't like the environment. Haha. Nothing like HOME. Besides that, I could even keep the machine for future use. I can practise making other items. I bet I will be a pro by then. LOL.
I'm not a sewing person to begin with. Slowly I begin to like sewing. It may be tedious and challenging but when you see your end product, there is this sense of satisfaction and achievement. It's like you can't believe that you made something out of your own effort. And I realised something. Now I know why those tailor charge so much just to make baju kurung. I used to complain that it's so expensive to be tailor-made. Now I TOTALLY understand. It's the workmanship plus the working hours. I admire all these tailors.
