Sorry my Mr. Gummy Bear
Wahhhhh.... I'm so fed up! I didn't get to watch Body #19!!!! Oklah, in a way it was my fault but then not totally 100%. I ended school at 2pm. So I left the school at around 2.10pm. I waited for the damn bus for about 15-20 minutes. I kept looking at the time. I thought I could make it on time until I had to alight 1 stop before the actual one and quickly walked like a mad woman to the interchange. To add on to that, I was carrying my heavy laptop as well. I just felt as though my legs were about to break. Haha.
So once I reached at the interchange then met Asyraf. We actually missed bus 168!!!!!! We had to wait for about 10 minutes. It means to say that time was running out. We reached at Woodlands at 4.11pm to be exact. The movie started at 4pm. I was like so sad!! Asyraf and I have been wanting to watch that movie. He suggested watching at AMK hub but I was afraid that I would be home too late because the movie is about 2 hours long and it would start only at 5.20pm. How sad! I guess I had make the wrong decision to go to Causeway Point. I thought we could still be able to catch the movie at 4pm. I was totally wrong.
In the end we watched Cloverfield. I would say that it's not worth watching. Well at least I had him with me and the gummy bears. Hehe.
I owe Asyraf a BIG treat. Haha....Hopefully next week we can still watch it when both of us are free =)

Yan Can Cook, So Can You!!!
Today supposed to be Monday Blues. However, I felt quite energetic instead. Amanda and I wanted to do our powerpoint, so we brought along our laptops. Suddenly, our supervising teacher told us to help the kitchen helper to prepare the ingredients for the next class.
So off we went to the kitchen and started to get busy. I wrote the recipe on the board while Amanda opened the cans of pineapples. Later on we brought out all the ingredients to the centre front. We were very busy for the first time. We had to make sure that we put every ingredient on the table. Then the kitchen helper started to boil the potatoes for the salad as well. These students are so lucky. Most of the things were done for them.

Today's menu consisted of Pineapple Fried Rice, Vegetable and Fruit Salad and Orange Juice.

Amanda and I had to present the food for the students to see. We must train them to make their meals look attractive and presentable. Haha. I must admit that the food that we cooked were not that fantastic but still we ate them for lunch. Hehe. No choice as we had to follow the textbook's recipe. Another thing is that this school is using induction cooker which means no stove. It was quite difficult to cook actually. You couldn't possibly cook the food fast.
We had to cook for our share and help the students at the same time if they needed some assistance. Actually it was nice to have this class. At least they would try and talk to you, some would joke around with you and some would smile at you. It makes the class more lively.
After the practical, Amanda and I went back to staff room to get some things, then another Homec teacher told us that we smell of food. Haha. That's how bad we actually smell. We also saw boxes on each of everyone's table. It was a cake given by one of the teachers. Her daughter turns one month old.
So at least at the end of the day, we did cook some food for ourselves and we get to bring home free cake! Haha =)

Cupcakes
Yesterday was practical day for one of the secondary 3 class. They were told to bake raisin cupcakes. Initially Amanda and I thought of not making it and just walk around to see students do their practical. My supervising teacher asked us to make some since we are on SIP and we need to write something on what we did. At first, we thought there were not enough ingredients since another homec teacher said so. But actual fact there were enough for us to bake. Haha.
So I made for 2 persons' share which means there were 12 cupcakes =). Amanda did 6 cupcakes. It has been quite a while since I cook in school. The last practical I did was back in 2005 for my O levels. This time round, I did the practical as a teacher but not a student. Hehe. The cupcakes tasted nice but not so soft as I wanted them to be. Well that's the thing when you use a conventional oven, it is hard to control the time and temperature. Conventional oven tends to generate more heat than normal oven. But then again, I did not set the time and temperature. It was the teacher. Haha. So it was not my fault. I just put in the tray and let it baked because we started to do later than the students. Since we were rushing for time, we did not even check the time and temperature.
I'm looking forward to other practicals =) I shall cook in school while I can since we are given free food. Haha. Here are pictures of the cupcakes. Note that the cupcakes have 2 different shades of colour because I put them in 2 separate ovens.

Somehow I like the darker cupcakes better =)

Sadly but true, I'm involved with the house practices. I just attended the house meeting just now. Trust me, I wasn't paying much attention. In fact teachers shouldn't be there in the first place. It's more of telling the students what's the house cheer, who are the teachers involved and the house team leaders. I belong to the house, Lee. If you are wondering why such a name for the house. My answer would be I don't know. I don't even see the link of all the 4 houses' names. Archer is the red house. Dodsworth is the yellow house. Lee is the green house. However I forgot what's the name of the blue house =)
I know it's kind of boring of me to update what's going on at my appointed school. But that's the only thing I can blog about nowadays. In fact I guess I would be doing so till 7th March when my SIP ends. Everyday from morning till almost evening I would be in that school. It's either I'm observing any classes or doing some work. Other than that, I would be attending meetings. It's kind of a routine daily work I supposed. Nothing interesting. On top of that, I have to record what I did into my log book every single day.
Well I hope that time will past fast. Especially now!! Hehe...

Week 1
Finally the weekends are here!!! Only 3 days of attachment and I'm feeling tired already. Sitting in the staff room most of the time doing the powerpoint just makes me restless.
I'm even involved in the house practice. Looks like I'll be home late each day. Now I don't know what to wear anymore. It's like I'm running out of clothes. I'm only allowed to wear skirts. It's a torture since I like to wear pants most of the time. Now I have to invest in buying more skirts.
I have already observed 2 lessons conducted by my supervising teacher. Well I don't feel like I'm on internship. I feel like as though I'm one of the students. When I sat in the kitchen and see all the students, I began to feel how time flies. Haha. I guess now I don't feel that nervous anymore since I'm beginning to adapt myself to that school.
Well I guess that's all for now. I'm really tired and I need to take a nap. Tata! =)

First
Today was the first day of school. Honestly speaking I was quite nervous. My hands were sweating. When I saw all the students, I was like "Oh my god, will I be able to survive this?" Haha.
When I was at the hall for the morning assembly, I could see all the students looking at me. Once the principal announced the new teachers, all eyes were on me. I had no choice but to stay calm and smile. What an experience.
Amanda and I had nothing to do. Basically, we just sat in the staff room almost the entire day. Other than that, we would be wandering around the school. We just couldn't sit still because we were too bored and we had this tendency to fall asleep. The biggest mistake was not to bring our laptops!!!!
Oh well, tomorrow would be a busy day for us I guess. We have to do the powerpoint slides and call the contacts we have gathered for the upcoming excursion. I think it's funny to experience being a teacher in the school. Imagine students greeting you and smile at you. I could still remember how I was a student back in those seconday school days. And here I am being one of the teachers. I think it's a good feeling to have students showing you some respect. Haha.
Well I better stop here, there will more updates... I'm sure =)
